How to order?

Four (4) easy steps for on line ordering for any MakeitDigi service.

After selecting your photo material choose your photo service:

  1. Slide Scanning Service; scanning slides
  2. Negative Scanning Service; scanning negatives
  3. Video to DVD Service; transfer from VHS, Video 8, Hi 8 and MiniDV to DVD
  4. Video Conversion Service: Converts from US standards (NTSC) to international standards (PAL) or from PAL to NTSC

Step 1:  Pricing Calculations and Add to your Cart

You may want to start with price calculation first. Choose your service with “more options”, then fill-in the order parameters including quantities in the “customize your order” table. The entries are self-explanatory. For example, when you want to order scanning 35mm negatives, you must select negatives (35mm) in scanning type. Then decide on the resolution and file format (JPEG or TIFF). If you want enhanced scanning select yes. Then enter the quantities in units of frames (images) and number of CD copies you want.

Place as many orders (clicking “Add to Cart” button) as you need by selecting the parameters. In your shopping cart you will get the summary table of multiple orders entered and the total estimated price including a shipping & handling charge and our estimated lead-time. The shopping cart enables you to edit the quantity or delete some.
Your subtotal amount must be equal or more than the minimum order stated in the service page. Keep in mind that the larger an order you place, the better the discount.

When you are satisfied with the order entries and the total price, you may continue the ordering process by clicking the “Order Now” button.

Step 2:  Create your account

Enter your contact info, name, address and all other required fields to complete your registration. Remember to enter correctly your email address and password. Check the shipping box if your shipping address is the same, otherwise, fill-in your shipping information.

Upon completion of this page, your account is ready for tracking your project. Now “Continue” to “Credit Card info”.

Step 3:  Credit Card Info

We accept Visa and MasterCard. Please fill in the credit card info, including your billing information. At this time we will only AUthorize your credit card to provide you with an order confirmation #. We will charge your credit card only after receiving your photo material and before starting the digital process. Remember, your authorization is valid for 7 days, therefore you must send your photo material immediately.
To submit your order, click "Next”. If your credit card was authorized, you will go to the summary step and will be notified by email.

In case you have a typo error, you will see a rejection note in red, such as: Invalid cardnumber. Click "Try Again" to fill in your information again.

Note:
By submitting your order, you have accepted our terms and conditions.

Step 4: Order Summary

When your credit card is authorized, you will be able to view or print the summary of your order that includes: Order number, Customer details, Shipping details, Credit Card Info: last 4 digits and Order amount.

You also will be notified by email receiving two notices, one from the credit authorization server and one from MakeitDigi providing you the order summary including the order number and login to "My Account". You may track your order any time by log-in to “My Account”.

Please print two copies of the summary, one to be shipped with the photo material and the other for your record.

Please label your shipment with this order number and keep it for your reference.
We strongly recommend that you ship your materials to us via FedEx, UPS or USPS Priority mail using a Tracking Number.

When receiving your photo material, our automated system will post it on “My Account”, and you will receive an email notifying that your credit card was charged in the full amount.
When your order is complete and we are ready to ship, we will notify you by email and will post it on “My Account”, providing you with the carrier tracking number.

How to Ship?

Prior to shipping, make sure your order has been processed properly and you received a confirmation by email.

After collecting your photo material you should group articles and package them carefully following our easy steps Handling and Shipping Instructions here.

You must handle your photo with care.  Please avoid touching them, or bending, or cleaning with water or other prohibitive solutions.  Please separate damaged photo material from the other photo groupings that require specials services.  Some photos may not be reparable. See Here

  1.  Arrange the photos in groups of the same kind and no less than 30 items in a group.  Negatives should be placed in protective sleeves.
  2. Mark the first item in the group.
  3. Pack each group separately per instruction and attach a label name of your choice.  Enclose each group in a clean container, a baggie or wrap with a blank dust free paper.  Please use a rubber band to keep the photo group together.  The  rubber band should not bend or touch the slides or photos.
  4. Package all groups together, having wraped them in dust clean packaging material, place them in a shipping box, not an envelope, so they will not have any space to move during shipping. That may cause damage to delicate photo material.  We recommend getting packing assistance from your nearest post office or office suppy store, such as Kinko’s, Office Depot, FedEx, UPS Store, Mailboxes Etc.  Be sure to include your return address, name and confirmation number.
  5. Ship the package to us with a tracking number so you can follow your material.  We strongly recommend that you choose a carrier that will provide you with a tracking number, such as FedEx, UPS, or USPS.

Why should I group my photo material?

If you have more than 100 items to process, we suggest you sort them by groups.  This will also provide you with organized images in folders to view.

How should I package my slides?

If you follow these instructions, your order will be processed faster and with better results.

When packing your slides, keep in mind that we create multiple folders on a disc, each folder per group with the name and order you provided in the attached label.  We then store the scanned file images in the order of slides in the group, first slide marked #1, or the slide that has the side “toward screen” (film emulsion side).  This is also the way you wish to view them.  Please avoid touching the slide film surface.
A group should have 30 slides or more.  Our minimum charge per folder is 30 frames.

To obtain a higher quality result we adjust the scan settings per entire group. Please group together slides of the same film type or mount, for example 35mm Kodachrome film, 35mm non- Kodachrome (exposure and color), 110, or 126 film (crop size).  We also ask you to inspect the slide mounts for any severe warp or bend and separate them from the group.  They will jam our scanner and you will be charged an extra fee.  If you send us a few slides (no more than 3%) with damaged mounts in a separate group, please indicate so, we will remount them at no additional cost.

Stack the slides together in a group of the same orientation, that is, all slides in the group should have the frames with landscape orientation and the emulsion side (“toward screen”) facing in the same direction.  Mark the first slide with pen or pencil on the mount on the emulsion side.  Please avoid touching the slide film surface.

Wrap slides in plastic sheet, plastic bag, or lock/seal bag, secured with a rubber band, and then insert the label you chose under the rubber band. We will accept slides in their original boxes you received from your photo shop if you still keep them.  Please do not send us slides placed B&H cubes, carousels or any other slide projector trays.

Package all groups together by wrapping them in a dust clean packaging material and placing them in a shipping box (using standard carrier box) staffed with foam or paper for padding.  We do not recommend using envelopes, that will get bent and possibly damage the delicate photo material.   We recommend to get packing assistance from your nearest shipping shop, such as Staples, Office Depot, Kinko’s, FedEx, UPS Store, USPS, Mailboxes Etc.  They will provide cardboard boxes and packing material.  Be sure to include the printed order form with your return address, name and confirmation number.

Notes:

Prior to shipping, make sure your order is processed properly and you received a confirmation by email.

How should I package my film?

Please follow these instructions, so your order will be processed faster and correctly.

When packing your negatives, keep in mind that we create multiple folders on a disc, each folder per group with the name and order you provided in the attached label.  We then store the scanned file images in the order of filmstrip placement in the group, first film as marked or the filmstrip that has the emulsion side down.  Make sure that all filmstrips have 3 or more frames per strip.  Please do not cut filmstrips and avoid touching the film surface.

A group should have 30 frames or more.  Our minimum charge per folder is 30 frames.

Please group together negatives* of the same film type or size, for example 35mm Kodachrome film, 35mm non- Kodachrome (exposure and color), or 110 or 126 film formats.  We also ask you to inspect the film for any severe warp or cut and separate them from the group.  They will jam our scanner and you will be charged an extra fee.  If you send us a few damaged film negatives (no more than 1%) in a separate group, please indicate so, and we will provide a special film tray accessory for scanning them at no additional cost.

The safest way to group your negatives is to place the film in the original film holder or you can purchase protective film sleeves from a photo store or find them on the Internet.  If the film is glued to the original plastic sleeve you must unglue them and place them back in the sleeves.  Before inserting the first film, mark “First” or “One” on the protective sleeve with pen or pencil.  Once the negatives are protected, stack in groups of the same orientation, that is, all film in the group should have the emulsion side facing down and the film marked “first” on top.  Remember, please avoid touching the film surface.

If you wish to have a specific order of the groups, mark each in the appropriate sequence and stack all the envelopes with the first envelope on the top and place them between two stiff cardboards, like a sandwich.  Fasten the sandwich in a rubber band and wrap in a plastic sheet, plastic bag or lock/seal bag.

You may either package the “wrapped sandwich” in a box filled with foam or place them in well-padded envelope.  We do not recommend using envelopes for mailing as envelopes will bend and may damage the filmstrips.  We recommend to get packing assistance from your nearest shipping shop, such as Staples, Office Depot, USPS, Kinko’s, FedEx, UPS Store, Mailboxes Etc.  They will provide cardboard boxes and packing material.

Be sure to include the printed order form with your return address, name and confirmation number.

Notes:

We scan the entire filmstrip, so send the film that you want scanned in its entirety.

Filmstrips of less than 3 frames cost an extra $1.95 per film.

* The APS canister is a group.  Write the group name with a permanent marker on the canister and wrap it in plastic.  Multiple canisters may be wrapped in a plastic sheet (Glad Press ’n Seal) or Glad bags and placed together in a standard shipping box filled with foam.

Prior to shipping, make sure your order is processed properly and you have received your email confirmation.

How should I ship my photo prints?

Please follow these instructions, so your order will be processed faster and correctly.

When packing your photo prints, keep in mind that we create multiple folders on a disc, each folder per group with the name and order you provided on the attached label.  We then store the scanned file images in the order of print placement in the group, first print where marked #1, or the face up print on the top of the stack.  Please remember to avoid touching the photo print surface.

A group should have 30 photos or more.  Our minimum charge per folder is 30 frames.

Do not remove photo print glued to your album page; we will scan your album page under our special service.  We will scan your album pages as 8 ½” X 12” print.  Please indicate so when ordering.

For quality service, we ask you to inspect the photos for damages such as deep scratches, or cuts and separate them from the group for special restoration service.  If not indicated so, we will not restore them but scan as received.

Stack the prints together in a group in the same orientation, that is, all prints should face up.  Place the group label you chose on top and place into a plastic sheet such as Glad Press n’ Seal, a plastic bag or lock/seal bag and secure it.

Package all groups together by wrapping them in dust clean packaging material and placing them in a shipping box (using a standard carrier box) stuffed with foam or paper for padding.  We do not recommend mailing envelopes as envelopes will bend and can damage the photo prints.   We recommend getting packing assistance from your nearest shipping shop, such as Staples, Office Depot, Kinko’s, FedEx, USPS, UPS Store, Mailboxes Etc.  They will provide cardboard boxes and packing material.

Be sure to include the printed order form with your return address, name and confirmation number.

Notes:

Prior to shipping, make sure your order is processed properly and your received from us a confirmation by email.

How should I ship my videotapes?

Please REWIND all VHS tapes before shipping them.

Before shipping you must rewind all videotapes.  There is an extra $4 fee for each tape not rewound.

Videotapes are easy to ship since they provide a self-contained cartridge.  For better protection, place each videotape with the order label you chose in a plastic bag or a lock/ seal bag and secure it with a rubber band or scotch tape.  The label will be used for the Title.

Package all groups together by wrapping them in dust clean packaging material and place them in a shipping box (using a standard carrier box) stuffed with foam or paper for padding.  We do not recommend using envelopes.  Even padded envelopes are not strong enough to protect the cartridge.

Prior to shipping, make sure your order is processed properly and you have received an email confirmation from us.
